Guild activities
The next Club meeting will be held on Tuesday 9 March from 7 pm at the Club room at Cosgrove High School, Glenorchy. President Clinton Luckock will discuss plans and ideas for the coming year and John Penprase will talk about and demonstrate the sharpening of various woodwork tools.
Monthly Guild meetings are normally held at our workshop or in a classroom at Cosgrove High School on the second Tuesday of each month commencing at 7:00pm and concluding by 8.30 - 9:00pm.
Formalities at Guild meetings are few and the include a 'Show and Tell' where members pass around recent objects or tools they have made. Meeting nights often include a demonstration of woodwork, tools or machinery, or demonstration DVDs of interest. A BBQ is held prior to meetings at the workshop commencing at 5:30pm, just bring your meat, drinks etc and meet some members, everyone is welcome!
Wood turning classes for beginners will soon be conducted at the Guild's workshop by John Penprase, on days and dates to be advised. These fee-for-service classes, likely to be held on six - eight evenings, will be based on a syllabus and limited to small numbers. Watch this space for more information. Intermediate classes may be offered later if there is sufficient interest.
If you are interested in joining the Woodcraft Guild of Tasmania please complete the MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM on this site or come to a meeting.
