On Saturday 5 June Guild members can visit Michael Gaskell's workshop from 9.30 am at Broadmarsh to see his work, equipment and spray finishing techniques, please check details in the email sent to all members.
The next Club meeting will be held on Tuesday 8th June from 7 pm at the Club room at Cosgrove High School, Glenorchy; the program after the short Guild business session will be a short 'Show & Tell' session followed by discussions about future Club activities, programs and the imminent Beginners Level Wood Turning classes for Guild members.
On Saturday 12 June members who wish to review safe working guidelines for the different Guild machines can attend between 9 am and midday and then be signed off by Kerrie Fraser or John Penprase as competent and safe to use these items.
The Guild Workshop will be open for member activities on Saturday 19th June from 9 am until 12 pm, John Penprase will assist and monitor safety, please bring your safety glasses, safety visor, dust mask and ear muffs. Dates will be provided here soon.
On Saturday 26 June from 9 am until midday the Guild wood lathes will be spinning as members keen to practice or take advice from other members will enjoy the Wood Turning SIG.
Monthly Guild meetings are normally held at our workshop or in a classroom at Cosgrove High School on the second Tuesday of each month commencing at 7:00pm and concluding by 8.30 - 9:00pm.
Formalities at Guild meetings are few and the include a 'Show and Tell' where members pass around recent objects or tools they have made. Meeting nights often include a demonstration of woodwork, tools or machinery, or demonstration DVDs of interest. A BBQ is held prior to meetings at the workshop commencing at 5:30pm, just bring your meat, drinks etc and meet some members, everyone is welcome!
